Our weather integration requests the NWS point forecast for an approximate ski-area location. Forecasts include their original issuance time, retrieval time, temperature, wind, and precipitation probability when reported. We don’t turn precipitation probability into invented snowfall totals.

Forecasts more than 18 hours past issuance are hidden. Forecast data also expires 30 minutes after retrieval. Terrain and elevation can vary substantially within a forecast grid.

Resort operations & snow reports

We need authorized resort feeds for individual trails, lifts, grooming, measured snowfall, and measured snow reports. The pilot directory links directly to official resort websites. It is not a complete inventory of Colorado ski areas.

The homepage does not show sample trail statuses. Unavailable operations data is not shown as a closure or as zero snowfall.

Resort cameras & roads

Camera players and updating snapshots are sourced from official resort camera pages. Each resort links its full camera collection. Copper and Steamboat currently use source links; their players are not embedded. A player being available is not proof that the camera is transmitting now. Check the displayed source timestamp.

Roads open on the live COtrip traveler map, with resort-specific approach roads listed in the app. Direct CDOT camera ingestion requires developer API access and is not connected.

Weather radar

Radar currently opens on the National Weather Service website. An embedded map and timestamped animation are planned, but aren’t implemented in this preview.

Independent by design

We don’t scrape OpenSnow. Its API is offered to selected partners under commercial agreements. Our product does not claim to reproduce its proprietary forecasts or editorial reports.

AI forecast summaries are not active. Any future summaries will need source-backed numbers, clear labeling, and accuracy evaluation. Official weather guidance remains linked to its source.

The look of the mountains

The Colorado app icon and resort logos are restored from the original iSnowReport repository. Resort photographs come from official resort or destination websites. A-Basin’s directory photograph is a saved base-camera image, not a live reading. Official map artwork is preserved with the published season; Copper’s locally saved map is a clearly labeled 2019–20 archive. Vail publishes map images. Telluride and Steamboat map files currently open at the source because automated downloads were blocked. Resort trademarks and map/photo copyrights remain with their owners; no endorsement is implied. Typography is served locally using open-source font packages.
